    Neighborhood Description

    THE CENTER OF IT ALL

In the late 1890′s and early 1900′s George Merrick and William Brickell were the main pioneers that brought the first developments to Miami. Known for its large urban neighborhood and the business district’s constant growth, Downtown Miami houses over 71,000 residences and a population density of 27,438 per square mile. Downtown Miami is considered the US’s hub to South America and the Caribbean Islands. Miami is home to major businesses, parks, restaurants, shops, government centers, theaters, and schools, which all connect with a 22-station Metrorail system.Downtown Miami’s diverse community and warm weather are not the only things that make it a spectacular place to call home. Downtown Miami is nestled on Biscayne Bay directly west from Miami Beach. Its location is key. Any ocean view high rise has a direct view of a sleepless South Beach. Downtown Miami is full of constant excitement and cultural activities. It’s home to the Americas largest music conference (Ultra), the Miami Heat’s American Airlines Arena, and Americas largest art exhibits (Art Basel).
