    Coconut Grove

    Neighborhood Description

Coconut Grove is a continuously inhabited and historic neighborhood in Miami. The city, which is one of the oldest in the state, was incorporated almost a century ago in 1919. Coconut Grove has a reputation for being a pedestrian friendly community, which hosts various outdoor events and festivals. Events such as the annual Coconut Grove Arts Festival and the Food and Wine Festival have added to the area’s inviting nature. This neighborhood has developed into a haven for tourists and families to enjoy the community’s outdoor restaurants, live music and boutique shops. Commonly referred to as the Grove, this area proudly offers numerous cafes, restaurants as well as late night bars that have become an epicenter of nightlife for many students from the University of Miami. South of neighborhoods like Brickell and The Roads, Coconut Grove is a beautiful area east of Coral Gables. The small, bohemian village has a relaxed atmosphere that extends onto the many open-air bay front parks in the area, including Peacock Park, Kennedy Park, and The Barnacle Historic State Park.
